Thanks Mike for the entry!!

Just a bit of a Renaissance Fayre update, we have been doing the wandering minstrel bit and promoting Blackmore's Night material around the unsuspecting Folk Clubs in the Cambridge area on their open stage nights...and it has been going down very well!! People at the folk clubs like the Blackmore's Night songs and love to join in, and how apt it all is, as historically this is the way music was promoted way back when!!!
Our bass player got the flesh eating bug just before Christmas and nearly died, but we are pleased to say that he's well on the mend and back playing with us!!

We've just opened up a myspace site and there is plenty of music to listen to from a "Modern and Ancient" set....alright it's not all purely Blackmore's Night, but bookings from the songs that folk know allow us to expose the audience to BN stuff.....it's devilishly clever what!! I even gave a CD copy to the Mediaeval Baebes when we saw them at Ely Cathedral in December.....probably ended up in a collection plate (or some other ecclesiastical bin) somewhere but hey we try!!

We are regularly appearing at the Acoustic Cafe at the Hardwicke Arms in Arrington in South Cambridgeshire every other Thursday:

Thanks again Mike for all that you do for Blackmore's Night UK Fan Club and promoting the tribute bands too!!

Hi Jerry,

Thanks for your message. Indeed, the main part of your text can easily be posted elsewhere, as a general message.

There are many other fans working to promote the music of Blackmores Night, so let us acknowledge them all, especially those that actually run websites, forums or undertake street team work.

You know my feelings about BN tribute bands: "They are in effect, a little street team all of their own".

Bye for now

Hi Andromeda,

I am not sure if any of the bands play near to you.
Which county are you in?

we are in Wiltshire, and I think Powerknight is in Wales (hope I am not telling porkies PK!) How great to get together with other BK fans in the area. The hotspot seems to be Lincolnshire which is a bit far for an evening!!!

You may well have something there Andromeda....Strangely on the May Bank Holiday weekend we are staying in the area near Stroud, I don't suppose it would take much to tempt us to load up the instruments and PA too.......

despite the fact that Stroud is about 20 minutes from here, I don't know it well so am not familiar with any places where they do live music, or any fayres or fetes, but I will watch the space in case. Might even tempt Powerknight out of Wales!

Thanks for the info Andromeda. For us 20 minutes would be no problem.

As we are totally unfamiliar with the area....is there anywhere near you that would be suitable (actually a village hall would do), or if there is a lack of live music venues is there a place where we could picnic and bring our battery powered busking PA? Are there many BN fans in your neighbourhood?

Hi Jerry. I am the only one that I know of! Our webmaster or the street teams might know. Sad to say I don't know of a lot of venues that might fit in this area but the town councils could give some idea. I shall watch for details!

Yes it`s South Wales Llanelli and despite the fact I really enjoy living in this neck of the woods...out in the sticks!
It`s very frustrating to find I have to travel miles to get to see a decent concert, the ticket fee, travel etc becomes very laborious. PowerKnight

Hi Andromeda / Powerknight,

An email has been sent to the Street Team members regarding RENAISSANCE FAYRE but only a handful live remotely near.
